William Palmer Ladd's Prayer Book Interleaves was the most influential book on liturgical reform in the U.S. Episcopal Church of the mid-twentieth century. At the centenary of his appointment as Dean of Berkeley Divinity School, and as a new period of liturgical renewal beckons, this new edition of Ladd's reflection offers wisdom, insight, and humor which remain relevant to the practice of liturgy and to its renewal. William Palmer Ladd (1870-1941), was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He received his BA from Dartmouth in 1891 and his BD from the General Theological Seminary in 1897. He also studied at the University of Paris, Oxford University, and the University of Leipzig.
